Cream That Actually Stimulates
Childbirth
LONGMONT, Colorado-January 2007- Some time-proven herbs
are once again wildly popular with midwives and pregnant
women. They are blue and black cohosh contained in a cream
called LaborBoost. Women wanting to avoid pharmaceuticals
and long, exhausting labors are turning to LaborBoost
for help starting and regulating their contractions.
In the right proportions, blue cohosh is believed to
start contractions and black cohosh to regulate them.
In fact, blue cohosh was called papoose root because of
its ability to stimulate contractions
A Boulder-area woman, Debbie Kaliszewski, created LaborBoost
Cream with the knowledge gained in 14- years as a chemist.
After having her second child, Kaliszewski became a certified
doula (birth coach), and a big advocate of natural help
with labor. She is now a mother of three.
“LaborBoost was developed because midwives were
saying they saw too many moms exhausted from prodromal,
or false labor,“ said Kaliszewski. “The women
would go to the hospital, only to be told to go home,
rest and wait. Wait they did, but with prodromal contractions
it’s pretty hard to get any rest. By the time they
reached active labor, often days later, they were too
tired physically and mentally to handle their labor, begging
for drugs and sleep.” Over the past four years,
Kaliszewski has sold nearly 5,000 jars of the product.
She points out, “LaborBoost should be used only
after 38 weeks of pregnancy. It’s rubbed on the
abdomen every two to six hours until active labor is achieved,
typically in 24 to 72 hours. The herbs will not override
a woman’s body if she’s not ready to give
birth.”
LaborBoost is made with 100% natural ingredients and
is paraben free. Since it’s an herbal product, it
has not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration.
Only use this stuff after you talk to your health care
professional,” said Kaliszewski, “your doctor
or midwife is the best person to decide if it’s
for you.”
Debbie Kaliszewski (pronounced kal-i-chef-ski) is willing
to get up at ungodly hours and do morning shows. She's
a very good sport, if not completely lucid at those hours.
